Who do I call?

PA Statewide Change Center: 1-877-395-8930
Philadelphia residents: 215-560-7226

Call as soon as possible. Hold times can be long — this is normal.

What should I have ready?

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Social Security number or Case Record ID, if you have it

  • Current address

It’s okay if you don’t have everything. Just share what you can!

What do I say when I call?

“Hi, I’m calling about my benefits case. I was recently denied and I’d like to ask for a reconsideration. I’m happy to verify my information.”

Then select from the following reasons below for special guidance on your denial reasons.

If reconsideration is not possible, ask:
“If reconsideration isn’t possible, can you confirm what I need to do next?”

  • “I was denied because documents were missing or late. I have now uploaded the required documents and I am calling to request a reconsideration.”

    Ask them to confirm:
That the documents are visible in your case

    Whether anything else is needed

Ask for the ticket number for your reconsideration and when you should expect to hear back on their decision.

  • “I was denied due to my immigration status, but I believe my situation qualifies for reconsideration. I have documentation related to my status and would like the case reviewed again.”

    If applicable, add:
    “I am under 18.”
“This is an emergency medical situation.”
    “I am pregnant.”
“I have asylum or refugee documentation uploaded.”
