📢 Important Update for Pennsylvania

SNAP Recipients

Starting September 1, 2025, the state of Pennsylvania is reinstating work requirements for SNAP (food stamp) benefits.

If you're between the ages of 18 and 52, you may need to meet specific work or training guidelines to continue receiving food assistance.

What This Means:

  • You may be required to work or participate in a job training program for at least 80 hours per month to keep your SNAP benefits.

  • This change affects Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs)—individuals who are not disabled and don’t have children in the home.

  • Some people may be exempt, including those with medical conditions, students, caretakers, or individuals experiencing homelessness.
