How the anniversary works

A 90-day window, once a year.

In Illinois (HealthChoice Illinois), every member has an "anniversary date." That's the day they first got their plan. Around that date, you get one chance per year to switch plans. Here's the timeline.

~95 days before
You get a letter
Illinois Client Enrollment Services (ICES) mails you a notice explaining your plan options.
~90 days before
Your window opens
You have 90 days to decide. Stay put or switch. Your call.
Before the deadline
Make your move
Choose a new plan, or do nothing and keep the one you have.
Your anniversary
Coverage begins
If you switched, your new plan kicks in on this date. If not, you stay where you are.
